History of the Department

The Department of Management is the leading department of the Faculty of Management, Hotel and Restaurant Business, and Tourism, and trains specialists through relevant academic, professional, and research programs at the following education levels: Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctor of Philosophy.
The Department of Management was established in 2002, practically immediately after the founding of the International University.

Research Work

Research topics being developed by the department: "Integration Mechanisms for the Formation and Functioning of Territorial Socio-Economic Systems" U 0117U003792 and "Coastal Regions in the World Economy and Globalization Processes" U 0117U005588.
The Department of Management traditionally holds an International Scientific and Practical Conference in April titled "Globalization: The Balance of International and National Economic Interests." The department's partners include the Institute of World Economics and Politics of the Academy of Social Sciences of the People's Republic of China, the Technological Educational Institute of Western Macedonia (Republic of Greece), the University of Economics, Wroclaw, Belarusian State University, Comrat State University (Moldova), and West Kazakhstan Agrarian and Technical University named after Zhangir Khan (Kazakhstan).

  • Each year in September, an International Scientific and Practical Conference titled "Prospects for Effective Management Decisions in Business and Projects" is organized, traditionally attended by experienced and emerging researchers and management practitioners from many countries around the world (https://bit.ly/3rWmlzY).
    Department instructors have publications in academic journals included in the list of professional scientific publications of Ukraine and in periodicals included in scientometric databases recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science, including Scopus and Web of Science Core Collection.

    Professor Derkach T.V. serves as editor-in-chief, and Professor Martyniuk O.A. as a member of the editorial board of the journal Scientific Bulletin of the International Humanitarian University. Series: Economics and Management (Category B).

    Professor Honcharuk A.H. is editor-in-chief of the academic journal Journal of Applied Management and Investments (http://www.jami.org.ua), a member of the editorial boards of the foreign publications Polish Journal of Management Sciences and Energy Policy Journal, both indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, a member of the Scientific Council of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine, a Ukrainian expert on the Horizon2020 program committee, and an observer on governing committees and a member of working groups in seven international research projects funded by the European Commission (https://mgu.edu.ua/international-projects).

    Department staff members are co-authors of such publications as Coastal Regions: Problems and Paradigms of Socio-Economic Development and The Visegrád Four — Ukrainian Dimension. Integration — Step by Step, edited by Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Derkach T.V.

    The Department of Management has for many years hosted a scientific and methodological seminar: Modern Problems of Economics and Management.

    An important area of the department's work is the training of research staff. Currently, under the supervision of Professors Honcharuk A.H., Derkach T.V., and Martyniuk O.A., a number of doctoral dissertation research projects are being carried out by third-level (Doctor of Philosophy) degree candidates.

Department Instructors

The department has 4 doctors of sciences, 4 candidates of sciences, and 2 lecturers. Department instructors conduct all necessary types of academic classes, practical and theoretical training, as well as methodological and educational work aimed at helping students realize their potential, achieve professional competencies, and prepare for active professional and creative careers. The Department of Management organizes events for instructors and students to participate in institutional, university, regional, national, and international scientific and technical conferences, round tables, webinars, olympiads, and more.
Department instructors have organized and lead student research clubs such as Global View: Regions, Countries, Markets, Business Engineering Studio, and Modern Problems of Management.
